We are the Brooks family — parents to five neurodivergent children, and autism and homeschooling shape everything we do. Being late diagnosed ourselves gave us the clarity to truly see and understand our kids, including navigating non‑verbal communication, sensory needs, and picky eating.
Our home is built around regulation, connection, and honoring how neurodivergent children actually learn and thrive.
Our advocacy was shaped by lived experience, including leaving Georgia and moving to North Carolina, living in a camper so we could find a doctor who would finally listen and diagnose our daughter. I hold degrees in education and am deeply passionate about advocating for autism and supporting families like ours.
“We share our story to help other neurodivergent families feel seen, supported, and less alone.”

In our family, Autism doesn't just hand us lemons — it launches them at us like we're in a citrus‑themed obstacle course. But don't worry, we still make lemonade… while certain relatives stand there asking if we've “tried being more consistent.” Bless their lemon‑free little hearts.
